The Importance of Wellness Exams

We have all heard that every year of a pet’s life is the same as 3 years of a human life. The truth is closer to 5 to 7 years of a human life. Because our pets do age at a greater rate than we do, it is very important that our pets have annual wellness exams. As our pets enter their senior years, bi-annual exams are recommended. Regular wellness exams are a very important preventative measure that we can provide for our pets. Animals don’t show signs of early disease and they can’t communicate discomfort to us. A wellness exam gives the veterinarian an opportunity to detect and prevent problems at an early stage. It is also important that our pets have an examination before administering vaccinations to be sure that they are healthy and that the vaccinations can be safely administered. NPAH is pleased to announce the addition of Pet Portals to our website. Pet Portals is a private and secure website where you can manage your pet’s health online. You can check your pet’s health records, search the extensive pet health library, view your pet’s medication schedules, update your account information, check your pet’s vaccination status, send your self medication reminders by email, and much more.

All you need to do is click on the “Pet Portals” icon on the home page and sign up! You will receive an email with a password within 24 hours. You are thn ready to go to Pet Portals and set up your account. It’s that easy to get started!

Be sure to take a look at our photo gallery and check out our patient photos! We are excited to see new photos coming in and we would love to have your pet’s photo in our gallery. Email your pet’s photo along with a sentence or two about your pet to info@npah.com.

Update: We are experiencing a problem with our photo gallery software. We are working to fix this problem, and hopefully, soon all the wonderful photos you have sent will be on the site. Don’t stop sending us photos! We will get them all up soon!
