Denise - Practice Manager I have been working in the animal care field since 1988, and started here, at NPAH, at its beginning in 1996. My main objective is helping to ensure that our patients receive the best medical care available matched with high standards of personal customer service that our clients deserve. I have 3 very naughty cats adopted from this facility, 1 human son and 1 human husband, all of whom I love very much.
Ilona - Accounts Receivable Manager I have been with NPAH since 2003. I started as a receptionist and now manage billing and inventory. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs, Warlock and Samantha.
Larae - Certifield Veterinary Technician/Nursing Manager In 2002 I decided I needed a career change and looked to the thing I have always loved - animals. I started working here in 2002 while attending Manor College's Veterinary Technology Program. I graduated, took my state boards, and am now a Certified Veterinary Technician. I am fortunate to work with a wonderful group of people and am blessed to be able to get to know and help all of our animal patients. My job here is to ensure that your pets get the best nursing care available to them. My husband and I have two children, Jenn and Jeff. We have two dogs at home, a Beagle, Murphy, and a Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix, Molly. We also live with three adventurous cats and three very adorable chinchillas.
Michelle - Lead Veterinary Technician/Inventory Manager I have worked in the veterinary field since 1990 and have been at NPAH since 2003. I began my career working in the kennel and gradually worked my way up to technician work. I am certified by the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians. At NPAH, my job includes all aspects of medical care including dental cleanings, x-rays, anesthesia and nursing care of hospitalized patients. I currently also maintain and manage inventory. I live with my 3 children (Shawn, Melissa and Angela), my 10-1/2 year old Rottweiler, Sabbath, 4 cats (Pip, Shadow, Weasel and Princess) and 1 Parakeet named Petey. After almost 20 years, I can honestly say that I still love what I do and look forward to coming to work each day.
Carin - Groomer/Receptionist I have been working at NPAH since June 2000. I have been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. I am currently a groomer and receptionist at NPAH. My husband, Steve, and I have been married for 1-1/2 years. We had twin boys in March of 2007. Their names are Mason and Aiden (and they are very handsome!). We also have 2 dogs, 11 cats and a horse.
Jess - Receptionist I have been working at NPAH since November 2006 as a receptionist.  I met my husband, Ron, in my senior year of high school, which was 1999.  We've been together ever since and we tied the knot in July of 2005.  We both love animals and currently live at home with our dog, Kira and our 3 cats.  In our spare time, we like to hang out with friends and family.
Gail - Receptionist As you can see, my love of animals began at a young age! At last count, in addition to my VERY tolerant husband of almost 28 years and 2 beautiful daughters, Jessica and Gabrielle; 2 dogs, 1 cat, 6 ferrets and 8 rats reside in our home. I began working in a veterinary hospital 2 years ago and have been here at North Penn since October 2007. This is the perfect job - I get to see puppies every day! In addition to keeping up with the kids, my dear friend, Stacey, and I have a humane educational organization called PAWS 2 Learn. We educate children and adults about choosing and caring for pets. We also do a bit of small animal rescue (that explains all the rats and ferrets!)
Kimberly - Receptionist I have been a receptionist at North Penn Animal Hospital since 1999. I love working with animals every day. It is such a rewarding job knowing you are helping people's pets and each day brings something new. I currently reside in Telford with my boyfriend, Davey. We live with an English Pointer, Jennie, and 3 cats, Murray, Sophia and Tommy Snowshoes. We also have a Cockatiel named Charlize. I enjoy many different activities including fishing, hiking in Jim Thorpe and Hawk Mountain, watching movies, music, and, of course, anything to do with animals.
Susan - Receptionist A veteran of NPAH , I returned in April 07, after a 6 year sabbatical as a Customer Care Specialist at a local bank. I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Rossi for almost a decade. I have over 30 years of customer service experience, and an Associates Degree in Bank Management at BCCC. Our home has always had at least one Golden Retriever. Recently we adopted twin red headed golden's, a brother & sister from Florida, through Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue. Rhett and Scarlett have brought joy and laughter to our home. The love they give allows me to share my compassion and understanding with our clients and their beloved pets. Dr. Rossi and his Team have always provided the best medical and emotional care for our "Kids" and us. I have fostered 2 dogs, one of which was a Hurricane Katrina Survivor who needed a warm, safe and loving environment until his owners could return home to New Orleans. I have cared for many pets of family and friends over the years, and have become "Aunt Sue" to many of them. I am excited to be back at NPAH and follow my heart's compassion?. Great Clients with Their Wonderful Pets.
Bobbi - Veterinary Assistant I have been working at NPAH since December 1999. I started as a receptionist and am currently working as a room technician. I love to work on my family farm in my spare time. I've been married to my husband, Kevin, since October 6, 2007. We have known each other since we were children. We have 3 wonderful dogs. Haze is a 3 year old Rotti mix and my other 2 dogs, Bruiser and Diesel, are 8 month old Collie/Shepherd mix littermates.
Christen - Veterinary Assistant I have been working as a veterinary assistant for 4 ½ years. I attend Penn Foster On-line School and plan to get certified in the field. I have 2 gorgeous cats, Missy and Frankie. I can't image being in any other career.
Heather - Veterinary Assistant I have been working in the veterinary field for 3 years now and I have to say it is the best thing ever! I grew up in Warminster, PA and graduated from William Tennet High School in 2003. I have loved animals since I was very young. I volunteered at a veterinary clinic in Southampton during high school, which gave me my first taste of what the veterinary field was all about. I started working at the Berks Humane Society in Reading, PA as a kennel technician/veterinary technician. After that, I worked at a small practice in Berks County where I developed lasting friendships and personal relationships with my fellow staff members and clients. My boyfriend and I moved back to the Lansdale area when he accepted a job to teach science at North Penn High School. I am currently living with my dog Sasha, my 2 cats, Dexter and Peanut and our Bumblebee Poison Dark frog, Mr. Sticky, oh, and Dan, my boyfriend gets to live with me too!
Amanda - Lead Veterinary Technician I have been in the veterinary field since 1996. I have been a technician here at NPAH since April 2005. I am certified by the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians. Here at NPAH, I assist the doctors in surgery, monitor anesthesia, perform dental cleanings, and perform medical treatments for hospitalized patients. One of my greatest passions is exotic pets. At home, I have 2 dogs, Petey and Chamois, 2 turtles, Gilbert and Little Turtle, 3 cats, Stevie, Nickel and Leah, 1 snake, syd, and the newest member of our family a skunk, Dirk Diggler.
Jennifer - Certified Veterinary Technician I'm Jenn. I've been a Certified Veterinary Technician for five years. I've been working with animals since 2000, when I worked for a greyhound rescue. I have been part of the NPAH family since December of 2006. I've been married to my hubby, Mike, since 2003. We welcomed our first child, David Michael, in July of 2006. We have a household of furry critters (including Mike); Duncan - our primadonna cat, Gawain - our zen cat, Amelia - our hyperactive, toe-biting, Maine Coone kitten and McKenna - our 10 year-old tripod sweetheart who is a bone cancer survivor. Pictured here is Abigael, one of our most special pets. She passed away in February of 2007 after a short life of almost 2 years. She was a very special cat who taught us a lot about life and patience. For such a small kitty, who was here for too short a time, she left a giant impact on so many lives. My interests include ballet, hiking, environmentalism, art history, whale watching, homeopathy, holistic veterinary medicine and anything related to attachment parenting.
Kelly - Lead Certified Veterinary Technician When my first dog was injured after being hit by a car, my helplessness spurred me to become a veterinary technician. I graduated from Harcum College's Veterinary Technology Program in June 2002. I spent 4-1/2 years working in emergency and critical care medicine, both at the University level and in private practice. In October of 2006, I joined the staff here at NPAH, where I have been a client for 10 years. As a Certified Veterinary Technician, I am responsible for taking radiographs, drawing and processing blood samples, performing dental cleanings, assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, performing medical treatments, and many other exciting tasks, my favorite of which is providing lots of hugs and kisses! I share my home in Lansdale with a chubby black lab mix, named Samantha, a handsome orange tabby cat named Maurice, and the amazing spirit of Thunder, my beloved lab shepherd mix who passed away in July of 2007.
Becky - Pet Care Technician I work in the kennel at NPAH. I have worked here since July of 2007 after moving here from Atlanta, GA. I have three dogs of my own and I enjoy taking care of everyone's pets during their stay at NPAH.
Deb - Pet Care Technician I have been with NPAH for 7 years as a Pet Care Technician. I love being around the animals and learning their individual personalities. I have been an "animal person" all of my life and have been educated in the school of hard bites, scratches and kicks. I enjoy working with all types of species and look forward to a life long education taught by the big and little "beasties". My "family" includes a mule, a Clydesdale, a Percheron, seven rats, ten cats and two dogs. Quite a group of teachers!
Elisa - Pet Care Technician I have been employed at NPAH since 1996, and am currently enjoying work as an Animal Care Technician in our boarding department. I have an Associates Degree in Human Services and a Certificate in Small/Laboratory Animal Care. I am married, have a son, and currently reside in Harleysville. I am lovingly owned by 2 Jack Russell Terriers, 2 cats, a horse and 2 donkeys. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, attending rodeos, driving our equines, going to carriage auctions and supporting land preservation.
Mary Beth - Pet Care Technician I moved here to Pennsylvania from Tennessee in 2001 (yes, that explains the accent!). In 2003, I joined the staff of NPAH as a Pet Care technician. In 2006, I received Pet Care Technician, Level I Certification from the American Boarding Kennel Association. My husband and I live in Lansdale with our four children and - at last count - three cats and a dog.
Meet our Critters!
Calvin - Hi. I'm Calvin, the North Penn Animal Hospital Security Guard and all-around most handsome cat. I'm the debonair black and white work of art that usually greets people at the front desk when they arrive. You can find me perched on the front desk, overlooking the waiting room. I'm available for petting and compliments. I also make hourly rounds throughout the hospital to check on everyone and make sure things are in proper order. I also love dispensing sage advice – so all you pets out there- check out my advice column and let me set you straight!

1991 – 2008

Stevie - Greetings. My name is Stevie, NPAH's official Hospital cat and all-around most handsome cat (Calvin who?). I am the very large and quite handsome white cat who hangs out with the receptionists out front. One of my many jobs is that of a foot-warmer for the ladies at the front desk. I'm also a people and pet greeter and you can find me laying smack dab in the middle of the waiting room floor or wherever you may be walking. I am as friendly as I am handsome (VERY!) so feel free to pet me and talk to me.

Sadly, we lost Stevie on March 15, 2008.  Stevie was NPAH’s first hospital cat and official greeter.  He is sadly missed by all of the staff here at NPAH, and many of our clients, who looked forward to seeing Stevie when they came in for appointments.

S'mores - Hey there, I'm S'mores. I am NPAH's official food tester. This is a very important job that I take seriously. I take a few nibbles out of each food bowl that's been laid out for me and my fellow hospital cats. I also test out the patient’s food; just to be sure it's all right. You won't see me much because I work in the offices upstairs, where I have my very own bowl of food, of course. I come downstairs if my bowl is empty or if I smell something that might need tasting. If you see a lovely grey tortie kitty with the prettiest chartreuse eyes, that's me! Some of the office staff have suggested that I need a diet. They don't realize that I'm just big-furred. Besides, skinny food-testers can't be trusted.
